Why do I write books about mature women? Because many of the older women I know are strong, vital, curious, energetic and still ready to pursue adventure and romance. I asked my older friends if they enjoyed reading books about characters their age. They were unanimous that there should be more novels by, about and for older women.
Some statistics say that every day more than 10,000 boomers retire and will continue to do so at that rate for the next 19 years. That means a lot of readers with leisure time will be looking for stories with characters they can relate to, can be inspired and reassured by. The Oasis Circle women range in age from 57 to 84. Their strong characters are based on real women I’ve had the honor of knowing. Their friendships for each other extend to their pet dogs, who also play a vital role in their lives.
The Oasis Circle Novels, Tumbleweeds, Blue Palo Verde and The Flower of the Woman will be available by June, 2015.
What’s your opinion? Regardless of your age, do you prefer to read books with characters your own age?
